The applets allow you to load and store memory allocations, reference strings, and so on using cut and paste. If you intend to use this feature, you may have to change the security policies for the applet. Edit the file

lib\security\java.policy

in your Java directory and grand the right:

java.awt.AWTPermission accessClipboard
